Track billable time
Run a timer, edit entries, and pull tracked hours directly into an invoice without retyping line items.
Time in Docz is a log of billable work per client and project. The goal is not to spy on yourself — it is to make invoicing lossless.
Start a timer
From any page, press the Play button in the top bar. Pick a client and a short description, then hit Start. The timer runs in the background across pages; nothing stops it if you navigate away.
Press the same button again to Stop. The entry saves automatically with the client, description, start time, and duration.
Log time manually
Forgot to start the timer? Go to Time → New and enter:
- Client (and project, if you track multiple projects per client)
- Date
- Duration (either start/end times or a raw hours number)
- Description
Manual entries sit next to timer entries in the same list — no special tag.
Edit and delete entries
Click any entry in the Time list to edit. Description, duration, and date are all editable. Delete with the trash icon; deletions are soft for 30 days in case you need to restore.
Bill time to an invoice
The workflow most people use:
- Finish a week of work with the timer running for each task
- Open Invoices → New for the client
- Click Add from time — all unbilled entries for that client appear
- Select the ones you want to bill; they land as invoice line items
- Send the invoice
Billed entries are marked as such and won't appear in the picker again, so you never double-bill.
Rates
Hourly rate defaults to the client's rate (set on the client profile). You can override on a per-entry basis for discounts or premium work.
