Terms of Service

Last updated: April 11, 2026

These terms describe the agreement between you and Docz.me when you use our service. By signing up for an account or using any part of the service, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use Docz.me.

What Docz.me is (and isn't)

Docz.me is a software tool for independent professionals to manage contracts, invoices, time tracking, client records, and related documents. The project started in 2016 as a tool our founder built for their own freelance work, and has been in continuous use in one form or another ever since.

Docz.me is not a payment processor and does not handle money on your behalf. When you record that a client paid you, you are logging a bookkeeping entry — we are not in the payment flow and we are not responsible for the actual transfer of funds between you and your clients. For collecting payments, you should use a licensed payment processor.

Docz.me is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice. Contract templates and invoice templates in Docz.me are conveniences, not substitutes for legal counsel.

Who can use Docz.me

You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live) and legally able to enter into a binding agreement. You must provide accurate information when you create your account.

Your account

You are responsible for the security of your account credentials. Use a strong, unique password, and don't share your account with other people. If you think your account has been compromised, change your password and contact us right away.

You are responsible for all activity that happens under your account, including any content stored there.

Your content

You own everything you put into Docz.me — every contract, invoice, client record, and uploaded document. You grant us a limited license to host, store, and display that content solely so that we can provide the service to you. We don't claim ownership of your work, and we don't use it for anything other than running Docz.me for you.

You are responsible for making sure the content you upload is yours to upload, and that it doesn't violate anyone else's rights.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use Docz.me to:

  • Upload illegal, defamatory, or harmful content.
  • Violate someone else's privacy or intellectual property.
  • Attempt to break into other accounts or systems.
  • Scrape, reverse engineer, or abuse our APIs.
  • Use Docz.me as a front for fraud, money laundering, or tax evasion.
  • Resell the service as your own product without permission.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.

Plans and billing

Docz.me offers a free plan and paid plans. If you subscribe to a paid plan, you'll be billed on the schedule you select. Paid plans include a 14-day free trial — no credit card is required to start a trial, and we will not charge you until the trial ends and you confirm.

Paid subscription charges are not refundable except where required by law. If you cancel a paid plan, you keep access until the end of your current billing period.

Termination

You can cancel your account at any time from within the app. We can terminate or suspend your account if you violate these terms, if we are required to by law, or if we decide to stop offering the service.

If we terminate your account for a reason other than your breach, we'll give you the ability to export your data for a reasonable period.

Disclaimers

Docz.me is provided “as is” and “as available.” We don't warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will meet every specific need you have.

You are responsible for your own tax compliance, invoicing accuracy, contract validity, and the legal relationships you form with your clients. Docz.me is a tool, not a replacement for professional advice.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Docz.me and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability to you for any claim will not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We'll post the new version here and update the “last updated” date. For material changes, we'll notify you in-app or by email. Continued use of Docz.me after a change means you accept the updated terms.
