Everything on one page
Invoices sent, contracts signed, time logged, notes written — chronological, filterable.
Client-specific defaults
Per-client currency, hourly rate, payment terms, and tax ID. Set once, applied everywhere.
Archive, never lose
Relationships end. History shouldn't. Archive keeps records searchable but out of the way.
Add a client in under a minute
Name and email is the minimum. The rest fills in when Docz actually needs it — you're not answering a form for fun.
Smart prompts
Docz asks for tax ID only when you first issue a tax-inclusive invoice. No premature data entry.
Import from existing tools
Bulk CSV import for moving off spreadsheets. Match columns once and the whole list lands.
The client timeline tells the whole story
Scroll one page to see where the relationship is. Every sent email, every opened invoice, every signed contract — in order.
Answer 'where are we with X?'
A quick glance replaces a five-message Slack search. Status colors make outstanding work obvious.
Notes that stick
Add internal notes to any client. Stays with the record; doesn't clutter invoices or emails.
Client-specific defaults cut the admin
Different clients pay in different ways. Docz remembers — you don't have to.
Currency and tax per client
One client in EUR with VAT, another in USD without. Invoices pick up the right defaults automatically.
Hourly rate lookup
Tracked time bills at the client's rate by default. Override per entry when you're giving someone a discount.

Frequently asked questions
Can I delete a client completely?
Only if they have zero invoices, contracts, or time entries. For active relationships, archive instead — hides from pickers while preserving the audit trail.
Do clients see their own account?
They receive hosted invoice and contract links but don't get a login by default. A client portal for invoice history is on the roadmap.
How do I handle clients with multiple projects?
Each client can have multiple active invoices, contracts, and time entries. Tag entries with a project name for filtering.
Can I bulk-import from QuickBooks or a spreadsheet?
Yes. Upload a CSV with name, email, and any extra fields. Docz previews the mapping, then imports in one click.
What happens to archived client data?
Nothing — all retained, fully queryable from the Archived filter. Archive just hides the client from the main list and new-invoice pickers.
